Audience research

My developing digital story needs to have an audience to be successful. so I must consider Who  will be  my audience for my project.

I found when i use facebook,if i post something information about rmit,my classmates and someone who intrested in rmit, they always  give me a comment when i use instagram,i usually post some pics about melbourne ,and i definitely like to tag some attracted with the landscape of melbourne ,so they will give me a like and communicate with me about how can catch the better views through the easy skills.

When we have spare time ,we always go to the cinema with our friends ,usually girls like love movie, boys perfer to action movie, and kids almost like cartoon movie.

Audience research is a systematic and accurate way of finding out about your audience. There are two main things that audience research can do:

(1) estimate audience sizes

(2) discover audience preferences

In the media industries, the equivalent to walking is broadcasting the programs. The equivalent of watching where you are going is audience research.

But when you are walking, you are doing more than simply move your legs, and watch where you are going. You will also have decided where you are walking to. Depending on what you see, you will adjust your steps in the desired direction. And of course, at any time you may change your direction of walking.

Then the effective way to do the audience research ,there are two way will help you to catch your audience as soon as possible:

  1. Instagrok research search engine for education It is not only just educational search engine,it also offers definitions and related concepts, and breaks down the search results into different types – websites, photos, videos and so on.
  2. DuckDuckGo privacy policy DuckDuckGo has everything you expect a search engine to have, including images, news and places, all while respecting your privacy. Great results without tracking you. That’s DuckDuckGo in a nutshell.

In my digital story ,i must find my audience by the right locate ,and it will be better for my promote and spread.

Hashtag-let more people find you!

What is tag?

Tag is a non-hierarchical keyword or term assigned to a piece of information (such as an Internet bookmark, digital image, or computer file). This kind of metadata helps describe an item and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching. Tags are generally chosen informally and personally by the item’s creator or by its viewer, depending on the system.(from wikipedia)

Many blog systems allow authors to add free-form tags to a post, along with (or instead of) placing the post into categories. For example, a post may display that it has been tagged with baseball and tickets.(from wikipedia)

An official tag is a keyword adopted by events and conferences for participants to use in their web publications, such as blog entries, photos of the event, and presentation slides.(from wikipedia)

A researcher may work with a large collection of items (e.g. press quotes, a bibliography, images) in digital form. If he/she wishes to associate each with a small number of themes.(from wikipedia)

what is hashtag?

A hashtag is a kind of metadata tag marked by the prefix #, sometimes known as a “hash” symbol. This form of tagging is used on microblogging and social networking services such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, VK and Instagram.(from wikipedia)

Just decide on the keyword you are targeting, place a pound sign in front of it, and you are all set!

Firstly when I saw the world hashtag ,I think of that are you serious?hashtag is so common to me ,I used it very frequentvly when I use my facebook, twitter,Instagram or blog. However when i finished this task ,I realized that hashtag is not only just great for small groups and attract the people to follow you but also a great way to organize your followers and get the word out about your brand.

This really made me consider my use of hashtags and how important they can be to promoting and marketing your product to your audience. They need to be relevant, catchy and state what you are talking about so that the audience know precisely what to look for without having to think too much about it. The spelling should also be correct and the hashtags themselves, catch but simple.

In my instagram,i used post some picture about melbourne, and i tag my pic with melbourne,so if the people want to see some news about melbourne, they maybe have a change to find me .

After my research ,i take to heart to consider i will use my hashtag in my project when i promote my project-rebuild bohol! And for encourage our  stealth audience can catch our  propose with i want the people who can see this event.Firstly, this is an event about rebuild,so I would tag some organization they care about rebuild, such like:RSC,WHO.Secondly, this is about children,so I also tag some organization they care about children.Thirdly,it is an event about music,so I will add some hashtag with music. Then ,this event will present at melbourne and it is about choir. In one world,I will try our best to let this event known by more and more people .

But I think Keep it Short may made your hashtag more easier to remember and spread.

I really believe that Hashtag can make it easier for people to find you and get  your ideas.

I review  three examples of interactive storytelling, and considering visual design, functionalityand structure. After that I think about how the viewer interacts with the story and how the story is told for a long time .

I totally be attractive by Take this lollipop.Firstly ,when I saw this topic ,I just can image as a child my parents told me that never take candy from a stranger. Then I google more details about this film.Take this lollipop is a 2011 interactive horror short film and Facebook app, written and directed by Jason Zada, which uses the Facebook Connect application to bring viewers themselves into the film, through use of pictures and messages from their own Facebook profiles. Starring actor Bill Oberst Jr.as ‘The Facebook Stalker’, the film acts to personalize and underscore the dangers inherent in posting too much personal information about oneself on the internet. The information gathered from a viewer’s Facebook profile by the film’s app is used once, and then deleted.(from wikipedia)

Then I open this website, and log in by my facebook account ,then the movie is start by a very weird and gloomy performance.Showing ‘The Facebook Stalker’ as a thin, creepy fellow, hunched over and typing at a computer keyboard by his urgly and dirty fingers, images provided from the accessed Facebook account begin to appear as the stalker types at his keyboard, and appears to search for the specific Facebook user who had granted access. The Stalker becomes more and more agitated as he scrolls through the discovered information, until he locates the home of the user, pulls up Google Maps, and finds directions to the user’s home from geographic data contained in his or her profile. With the user’s profile picture taped to its dashboard, the stalker is then seen driving in his car to the user’s location, apparently to perform mayhem.

At the end of the film, a screen appears with an image of a red lollipop containing a razor blade. Below the image is the viewer’s Facebook screenname and the name of the stalker’s next victim as gleaned from the viewer’s own profile.

Take This Lollipop is the 21st century re-imagination of that conversation, reminding consumers why privacy should be a concern. And, perhaps, why you should never trust virtual strangers.

It is very interested  that audience can attend this story by themselves ,if i talk about my digital story ,maybe i can use this style to make others like real experience and real life and their real reactions.

I really like to tell my digital story in this brief way,the perfomance and the music ,it all makes a story likes real just infront of your face.In my digital story or next project,i maybe can take this way to attract my audience. And if I use the audiences personal social media to attend my digital story,I think it would be lots of fun and attractive.

If you would like to be the star of your very own horror film, go ahead and try it…I dare you!
